A 4.0-liter V8 will power the upgraded S7 trim and will add 94hp more. At the top of the range, the RS7 will be powered by a twin-turbo V10. The S7 will arrive in the latter part of next year or early in 2011 and the RS7 will arrive two years later. The lower spec models will come with a six-speed manual gearbox and eight-speed automatic, while the higher-performance models will be receiving a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Audi's standard quattro AWD will be offered for North American models. No information has been released concerning if the RWD option will be offered for European spec variants. Also included in the package is Audi's torque-vectoring system. Other upgrades include air suspension in lieu of the spring-based system fitted in other Audi models. The upgrade aims at helping the car compete with the originator of the four-door coupe, the Mercedes-Benz CLS. The company expects sales level to reach 40,000 units.
