Since it was introduced the Fiat 500 mini has been garnering the title of car of the year from different organizations and magazines. There is, currently, a convertible version, the 500C, that is going to join the award-winning mini and will be introduced at the Geneva Motor Show next month. The 500C comes with an automatic retractable soft-top equipped with a built-in glass backlight and a center stop light. The roof, which is made of weather resistant canvass, comes in three color options: black, red and ivory.
These colors perfectly match the interior scheme of Pearl Red and Warm Grey. The car can accommodate four adults, however legroom are better suited for small children. The 500C will come with three engine choices as in the hardtop. Available are a 1.2 to 1.4 displacement units. The 1.3-liter gasoline entry-level engine can power the car with 69hp, the middle 1.3-liter unit is a Multijet turbodiesel that can produce 75hp on tap and the top of the line 1.4-liter can provide 100hp.
Options for transmissions include a 5-speed manual and robotized Dualogic auto. A fuel-reducing engine stop-start is now available for the first time in the 500 range including the 500C. This system automatically shuts down the engine when the vehicle is at full stop and starts the engine when the gas pedal is depressed.
