New Renault Megane CC teased ahead of Geneva Motor Show
This is the first official teaser picture of the new Renault Megane coupe-cabriolet that is slated to be launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Previously, the model has been spotted testing in northern Scandinavia.
This teaser image of its rear doesn’t give much away of what the new model’s overall design is. It is believed that styling will be similar to the new Megane range, which is heavily toned down from the more radical styling of the previous model. The new Megane’s range is composed of the hatchback, coupe, estate and Renaultsport models that were all launched last year. This cabriolet model will complete that range. The current cabriolet is still available in the UK. At one point, it came second only to the Mazda MX-5 in terms of sales. The cabriolet was also one of the first in the C-segment to get a retractable hard-top roof, which has since been introduced on rivals such as the Volkswagen Eos and Ford Focus. The engine range will be similar to that of the hatchback and coupe models. It would also be one the first Renaults to be given the new dual-clutch gearbox.
