Last week we announced that Volkswagen will acquire Karmann, the coachbuilder and convertible rooftop specialist known for producing the VW Beetle-based coupe dubbed the Karmann Ghia Today, thanks to our sources inside the German manufacturer we found out that together with the Karmann deal Volkswagen will also build the cabrio version of the Golf VI. It appears that the new model will hit the streets in 2011. The new car will be based on the Golf VI hatchback but will receive a redesigned rear as well as a stylish soft-top.
