New Vw Golf VI gets 6 stars at the EuroNCAP safety tests

In the latest EuroNCAP safety tests, the Volkswagen Golf got the highest rating of five stars. Even though initially the Golf Mk6 also received the top score in the original EuroNCAP test, the procedure has since become more stringent. Because of this the car has been tested again. In the current test the following were all evaluated: adult occupation protection, child occupation protection, pedestrian protection and the level of safety equipment the car is equipped with. Included also is a test for rear crash for whiplash protection measurement which motivated VW to equip the Golf with head restraints that were optimized for whiplash. The scores of Golf are as follows: adult occupant protection, 97%, child occupant protection, 84%, pedestrian protection, 61%, and for safety equipment, 71%. Photo gallery after the jump!
