As a tribute to the Mojave Trail, Chrysler has decided to bring the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Mojave to the 2011 New York International Auto Show. The Mojave, which arrives after the "Islander," "Mountain" and "Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition" models, provides what fans look for in factory-customized vehicles. Mike Manley, President and CEO - Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, said that the Mojave Trail is famous for the expeditions made on its rugged environment that consists of elevation, sand, canyons, a river crossing and hill climbs. In other words, it represents the “perfect landscape” for the Jeep Wrangler.
Manley said that the Jeep Wrangler Mojave is a specialized vehicle that will be appreciated by Jeep enthusiasts. At the same time, it appeals to new customers. The Mojave, while based on the Wrangler Sport model, features a new desert theme that makes it stand out. Its exterior was customized and given a special paintjob. It was then fitted with a body-colored hardtop and fender flares and lizard decals on the hood and rear, as well as the side steps on the Sahara.
The 2012 Mojave has been given the Wrangler Rubicon tire and wheel package, which comes with mineral gray 17-inch wheels wrapped with 32-inch tires. It has also received black fuel filler door and taillamp guards. For its interior, the Mojave has distinctive features that include dark leather seats with lizard embroidery. The vents are surrounded with driftwood and there are steering-wheel spokes, a front-passenger grab handle, and door-handle inserts. The Jeep Wrangler Mojave is offered in three colors: Sahara Tan, Bright White or Black. It has a price tag of $29,195 (excluding a $750 destination charge) in the US.
