New York Auto Show: Kia Forte Koup

2010 Kia Forte Koup

Kia Forte Koup is the first two-door coupe from the Korean manufacturer and it was officially unveiled at this year's New York Auto Show. What you see in the photos is actually the production version of the vehicle which it will carry under the hood two engines: a 2.0-liter DOHC four-cylinder capable to deliver 156 hp and 195 Nm of torque (144lb ft) and a 2.4-litre in-line four, with 173bhp and 227 Nm of torque (168lb ft). The new vehicle will use the same platform as the four-door Forte, with independent front suspension with MacPherson struts, anti-roll bar and a torsion beam rear axle. It will be offered in two versions: EX and SX. The EX features body-coloured bumpers, heated wing mirrors with integrated indicators and 16-inch alloy wheels while the SX version will come with the 17 inch wheels and a sport-tuned suspension providing for a firmer ride with reduced body roll and improved handling. For the moment the vehicle will come only in the U.S. and it is not planned for Europe.
