After a teaser, the new 2015 Dodge Charger finally arrived at the 2014 New York International Auto Show. It’s easy to see that the exterior was almost completely redesigned as the 2015 Charger comes with a new hood, fenders, front and rear fascias, front doors, a three-piece spoiler offered as standard on the R/T model, stylish signature LED racetrack tail lamps, new projector headlamps, LED fog lamps on the SXT and R/T models and a center high-mounted stop lamp (CHMSL).
Moreover, the 2015 Charger received new wheels for all price classes including the impressive 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, but also new 20-inch wheels offered as standard on the R/T models. Dodge will offer new heritage colors such as B5 Blue as well as the TorRed, along with Redline Tri-coat Pearl, Jazz Blue Pearl, Granite Crystal Metallic, Billet Silver Metallic, Phantom Black Tri-coat Pearl, Ivory Tri-coat Pearl and Bright White.
The interior features new premium, soft-touch materials and in addition, a new 7-inch thin-film transistor (TFT) digital instrument gauge cluster. Taking a closer look at the center stack, we can see that the 2015 Charger features the latest Uconnect Access suit of technologies. As standard the Uconnect offers a 5-inch touchscreen, while the 8.4-inch touchscreen is available as an option.
A performance-inspired all-new electronic shifter is standard on both V-6 and V-8 models. A new three-spoke steering wheel is available with paddle shifters, complemented by the eight-new interior trims, such as new Black and Tungsten cloth (replaces Light Frost Beige on SXT and R/T) or Black and Pearl leather (replaces Tan leather), New Black and Ruby Red (replaces Radar Red leather).
Chrysler offers as standard on all 2015 Dodge Charger models the segment-exclusive TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. Some of the technical highlights include the Uconnect Access Services (911 call/Assist Call; Roadside Assistance Call; Theft-alarm notification; Uconnect Access App for remote services o Yelp; Voice texting; Wi-Fi hotspot (service available)), new Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control Plus with Full Stop, advanced Brake Assist, Forward Collision Warning-Plus and all-wheel-drive (AWD) with front-axle disconnect on the SXT and SE models.
The Charger also offers premium audio systems that are designed to immerse passengers in the ultimate audio experience, including the segment-exclusive high-definition Beats Audio system. Under the hood, the 2015 Dodge Charger SE and SXT rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) models carry the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that generates 292 hp (218 kW) and 260 lb ft (353 Nm) of torque. This engine promises a best-in-class 31 mpg on the highway.
For those who want more, 2015 Charger SXT model is available with the Rallye Appearance Group that provides up to 300 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque from the same Pentastar V6 engine.
