The 2017 Mercedes-AMG CLA45 4Matic offers a rather unique mix of individuality with an extravagant design and sporty driving experience. The CLA was first sold in the U.S. back in 2013 and was the first-ever compact car to come from Mercedes-Benz. It was a highly successful vehicle for an entry-level model with 29,643 units sold in 2015.
This represents a 15% increase compared to 2014 and made the US as the CLA’s most significant market for 2015. Mercedes-Benz has delivered in excess of four million units of its compact cars to different customers across the globe. The model series was manufactured at its Kecskémet, Hungary, production facility, which was opened in 2012.
The actual production of this 4-door Coupe though began in January 2013. Since the production facility became operational, it has made more than 500,000 vehicles. It was even responsible for manufacturing the B-Class.
In terms of technology, the 2.0-liter AMG turbo engine in this Coupe is related to the biturbo 4.0-liter V8 engine of the Mercedes-AMG GT which can give a maximum of 503 hp of output. The turbo four-cylinder engine had already won the "Engine of the Year Award" twice.
The AMG engine managed to get the award for the engine category of 1.8-2.0 liters. It won for the years 2014 and 2015. The different independent experts were all captivated by the engine’s outstanding characteristics and the trailblazing engineering.
