The New York International Auto Show will soon launch the 2013 poster artwork that aids in setting the tone for its 113-year-old automobile event at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan on March 29 - April 7. For this year, Lady Liberty will be driven across the city as ticker-tape falls down to signify the beginning of the New York International Automobile Show. Show Chairman John LaSorsa said that the New York Auto Show is an “historic part of the fabric of the City.”
He also said that he savors the thought of using other iconic NYC elements for the poster design. He added that the concept of the Statue of Liberty as a hood ornament getting a ticker-tape welcome on the Canyon of Heroes as she makes her way to the auto show is a “fun and imaginative way” of demonstrating love for the car and the city. The New York Auto Show features an incredible mix of novel ideas, technological innovation, outstanding concept cars and almost 1,000 of the newest cars and trucks.
It’s estimated that there will be more than one million visitors to the show this year. The event has been associated with a stunning graphic that serves as the basis of a widespread outdoor advertising campaign on major metro area billboards, the New York City Subway, Long Island Rail Road, NY Waterway, and Metro-North Railroad. This has also been made into the focus of a comprehensive magazine, newspaper and web advertising campaign.
