Things are getting quite interesting for Scion as the brand owned by Toyota Motor Corp. will soon receive a sedan to its lineup. The vehicle will be introduced in April at the 2015 New York Auto Show and for those who don’t know this is the first time when Scion will offer a sedan.
Still, the New York Auto Show will not be the only vehicle introduced by Scion as the all-new Scion iM will also arrive to “The Big Apple”. As expected, the new iM hatchback will be inspired by the iM Concept, which was unveiled back in November at the 2014 LA Auto Show.
With the introduction of the two models, Scion looks to bolster its aging lineup and increase its sales in the United States, which slumped 15 percent to 58,009 vehicles in 2014. In addition, the introduction of the iM hatchback also marks the introduction of a new design, brand’s first in three years.
“With the iM hatchback and our first sedan, we’re inviting drivers to re-imagine what they can accomplish with a Scion,” said Scion Group Vice President Doug Murtha. “Both new models will stand out in the marketplace for their style and substance. I can confidently predict that 2015 will be an exciting year for Scion.” [source: Scion]
