As you may know already sports cars manufacturer are trying to make their vehicles greener in order to be accepted on the market and by the clients. After we found out that Ferrari is going to present a hybrid concept at the Geneva Motor Show, today we found out that another manufacturer is considering making its cars friendly with the environment. According to our sources, Porsche is considering adding a new four-cylinder engine or even a turbocharged three-cylinder powerplant to its next Boxster range.

"A Boxster with a four-cylinder engine, or maybe even a three-cylinder turbo, could produce between 180bhp and 200bhp and emit just 180g/km of CO2" said Boxster model line director Hans-Jurgen Wohler.

This move comes due to the pressure from the EU law makers to reduce emissions. For those who don't know, the EU law wants greener cars capable to deliver 120g/km of CO2 by 2012."A low-carbon Boxster would certainly help us to reduce emissions, but it won't be an automatic saviour," said Wohler.
