Future products: Mercedes-Benz SUVs and crossovers

2010 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class
In the next few years, Mercedes-Benz will be offering numerous products. For the GLK-Class: A facelifted version of the smallest crossover in Mercedes' lineup will arrive in 2012. A diesel version of this crossover, which was introduced as a 2009 model, may come out at around this time too. For the M-Class: The new M-Class, which will feature Mercedes' latest generation of fuel-saving engines, is expected next year. This indicates that the twin-turbo, 4.6-liter V-8 will proceed into the ML, as well as the twin-turbo, 5.5-liter V-8 in the ML63 AMG.
Mercedes' upcoming normally aspirated, direct-injected, 3.5-liter V-6 with 306hp and 273 pound-feet of torque will be used as the base engine. A diesel V-6 will be offered for all 50 states. For the R-Class: The refreshed 2011 model was introduced in July this year, with styling tweaks to give it an SUV appearance. So far, sales have been slow, making the carmaker doubtful about the future of the R-Class.
It’s possible that there won’t be a second-generation model. For the GL-Class: There will be a redesign of Mercedes' largest SUV in 2013. For the G-Class: The Geländewagen has been mostly unchanged for more than 30 years. It has only been given the necessary powertrain and interior updates. The G550 is powered by Mercedes' normally aspirated, 5.5-liter V-8 with 382hp coupled to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
