Nissan revealed that it will soon be producing the Micra Connect Special Edition, a car designed for urban female drivers. The car is a special version of the Micra and was inspired by an online survey, which found that women require a car that's easier to park and drive in traffic jams. The special edition comes equipped with new dashboard electronics, as well as a voice-activated navigation system, GPS with parking and road condition information plus a separate feature that allows the driver to search for a fuel-efficient route.

Added features Bluetooth support, USB connectivity, iPod and MP3 player. The Nissan Micra Special Edition was especially designed to be a fuel-efficient vehicle, so it features all four Nissan's engine configurations ranging in between 1.2-liter gasoline 65 horsepower and 1.5-liter 86 horsepower diesel option.

The car is set to roll out in September. In addition, Nissan announced that the Micra will be built in India, with production to be handed over to a new factory near Chennai, India, sometime in mid-2010. The facility will roll out about 200,000 vehicles each year, about 60%- 70% of which will be aimed at European markets.
