Official: 2009 Nissan 370Z will feature the 332 hp V6 engine

Photos of the all new 2009 Nissan 370Z have been seeping out of Nissan for the past several weeks as a lead up to the car's official revealing at the 2008 LA Auto Show. Particulars have been mostly rumor thus far, but now some of the conjectures can be put to rest, gratitude is credited to information in a photo caption from the LA Auto Show's website. The new Z will reverse the latest automotive trend of swollen model redesigns by highlighting a narrower wheelbase and lighter body components. It is a fact that its 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine with Variable Valve Event and Lift Control, will generate exactly 332 horsepower. That is a couple more horsepower than are presently generated by the exact same engine inside the Infiniti G37. For those like speed, a 7-speed automatic transmission will also be ultimately offered. And for those who appreciate some elaborate footwork, but don't have a completely regulated heel-toe, a rev-matching downshift system will be offered for the 6-speed manual gearbox.
