2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS

It has been a long wait for Camaro fans but brand new Camaros will soon be available across Europe. Cheers everywhere were heard after Jurgen Keller, Chevrolet Germany's general manager told Auto Motor und Sport the news. So far, details to this happy development have not been released. Word on the street is that some modifications will be made since the European driver's taste is considerably different from the Americans. What appears to be definite is that the US demand will be satisfied first and only then will the car be taken to Europe.

Auto Motor und Sport speculates that the engine likely to be used for the European version will be the 6.2l LS3 V8, developing either 400 or 426 hp. The site also presumes that the Camaro will be priced higher than the 25,000 euro range. GM has been vocal about their business leaning towards the Camaro, Corvette and Volt, so it seems that the move to Europe will be happening soon.

This became apparent when GM was found to have no other major assets in Europe after the sale of Opel and Saab will be concluded. As to how the Europeans will welcome the Camaro remains to be seen. In the US, the 2010 Camaro is unrivaled after having outclassed the Mustang for the first time in 16 years. In June, the new Camaro sold 9,320 units compared to the Mustang's 7,362. Research revealed that the last time this occurred was in 1993, when the Chevrolet won 10,985 to the competitor‚ 5,680.
