After few leaked photos, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster became official today. As expected, this is the most potent version of the open-top Vantage range as it is powered by the naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V12 engine delivering 517 PS at 6,500 rpm and a muscular 570 Nm of torque at 5,750 rpm, This engine is bolted to a six-speed manual gearbox and it can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 190 mph or 305 km/h. Although the vehicle shares much of the technical and specification features of the V12 Vantage Coupe, some of the elements were redesigned on order to make the roadster unique.
As a result, the V12 Vantage Roadster features a redesigned rear boot lid and lower front air intake as well as a number of unique chassis revisions. Such revisions include a modified rear damper set-up, front and rear damper valve tuning and a new rear spring design. Furthermore, the V12 Vantage Roadster comes with several eye-catching additions that underline its sporty characteristics, such as carbon fiber side strakes, carbon fibre front splitter and rear diffuser, carbon fibre mirror caps, carbon fibre rear lamp infills and a new set of new forged alloy wheels.
The interior features distinguishing features such as glass switches in the lower centre stack. Just like the V12 Vantage Coupe, the V12 Vantage Roadster features the engine’s “Sport” mode button, which enables he driver to select between two different powertrain modes. This mode was designed to be used in more dynamic driving situations. Moreover, in the Sport mode, the exhaust system bypass valves are also kept open for longer to create a particularly sporty exhaust note. Pricing starts at £150,000 RRP in the UK (190,000 euros or $233,000).
