Hyundai introduced today at the 2012 New York Auto Show the all-new 2013 Santa Fe! The most interesting thing is that the new Santa Fe will be offered in to body styles: Santa Fe Sport which offers room for five passengers and Santa Fe which features a long wheelbase (LWB) and offers room for seven passengers. The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport will go on sale late this summer, while the larger Santa Fe will be introduced in January 2013. Some of the highlights of the 2013 Santa Fe lineup are: new crossover architecture developed for families, “fluidic sculpture” exterior design, in-house six-speed automatic transmission, panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats and heated steering wheel, power driver and front passenger seats, standard Blue Link and Intelligent Active All-Wheel Drive.

Regarding the 2013 LWB Santa Fe, according to Hyundai, this is the only midsize CUV with a standard direct injection V6 engine. The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport will be offered only with four-cylinder engines: a Theta II 2.4-liter Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine delivering 190 hp, 181 lb-ft of torque and an estimated highway fuel economy of 33 mpg; the second engine is the high-output Theta II 2.0-liter turbocharged GDI engine delivering 264 hp, 269 lb-ft of torque and estimated highway fuel economy of 31 mpg (FWD A/T).

The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe LWB will be offered only with the Lambda II 3.3-liter GDI V6 engine delivering 290 hp. The sleek exterior design is also mirrored inside and the Santa Fe offers a spacious cabin with more shoulder room than the previous generation but also a redesigned dashboard. Santa Fe Sport rides on a 106.3-inch wheelbase, with an overall length of 184.6 inches, height of 66.1 inches and width of 74.0 inches. The larger Santa Fe rides on a 110.2-inch wheelbase, which is 3.9 inches longer than the Santa Fe Sport’s wheelbase.
