Audi Q3 Vail

Audi of America is planning to sell the Q3 compact crossover in the U.S. after production in Europe begins in late 2013. The Q3 demand would enable the brand to achieve sales of least 8,000-10,000 units annually in the U.S. as soon as sales start, according to Audi U.S. boss Johan de Nysschen. He didn’t say the exact date that the car is expected to arrive in the U.S.

After Audi's press conference, De Nysschen said that last year, Audi brought an early car to its national dealer convention where it received such a positive response that left no doubt that the concept will work.

The production Q3 meant for the U.S. will be available with a choice of Audi's 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder or its 2.0-liter turbo diesel. At the ongoing Detroit auto show, Audi has on display the Q3 Vail, a concept version of the Q3.
