Official: Bmw Z4M not coming
It was confirmed by the Bavarian carmaker that it will not make a Z4M, pointing to the current global crisis and the absence of customer demands as its justification. So, it is definite that there will no M variant of the BMW Z4 Roadster.
Although the carmaker is planning an M Sport pack just like it on the 135i which consists of a body kit, big alloys, tuned suspension and a steering wheel with the M brand. There are also speculations that the upgrade for the Z4 could come with a remapped ECU to boost yield of the top-of-the-range car’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo by as much as 20hp for a grand total of 326hp. An insider pointed out that there’s really no financial sense to a full-on M variant of the Z4 and citing further that the M versions of the X5 and X6 were shelved even before the global crisis arrived.
