You can check out the official details, photos and specs here: 2012 Hyundai Veloster: official details, photos and specs] - Hyundai is preparing to produce the Veloster Concept, which was unveiled at the 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show. In an interview with Inside Line, Hyundai Motor America's CEO John Krafcik revealed details about the upcoming model.
The production version will 70-80% resemble the concept car. Most likely, it will also take the name but that the company is still considering other suggestions. Krafcik said that the car, which will have front wheel drive, aims to attract with its unusual design line rather than its sports car performance.
The car will be the first to introduce an innovative body style which Krafcik says might be doors or a unique roof or something with the hatch. He said that it won't be like anything in the small car segment. He added that it will be Accent-sized or like a 4-passenger Honda CRX. The new car's engine will be a 1.6 liter four cylinder with Direct Injection making 140 hp that will get over 40 mpg US (5.8 l/100km).
