Lotus Evora Type 124 Endurance Racecar

Groomed to compete in endurance events in 2010 and 2011 is the latest Evora Type 124 Endurance Racecar. Lotus developed this car in-house to be a race-tuned version of the mid-mounted Toyota V6 engine, raising its power to over 394bhp, up from 276bhp on the standard road car. To improve performance, Lotus cut 200kg of the road car's weight, which is now below 1200kg.

The car also features a six-speed sequential paddle shift racing gearbox, full FIA-spec rollcage, FIA-compliant 120 liter ATL fuel system, FIA fire extinguisher system, competition carbonfiber rear wing and a diffuser and front splitter. AP Racing six-piston calipers run from front to rear. The car was also fitted with a race-tuned Bosch ABS system, four-way adjustable dampers and adjustable anti-roll bars.

It runs on 18-inch rims shod with Pirelli racing slicks and the wheels widths have been increased over the roadcar. Founder Colin Chapman built the first Lotus back in 1948 and since then, motorsport has been in our blood, according to Luke Bennett, director of Lotus Cars.
