Unveiled today by Nissan North America is the Nissan NV2500 Concept at a press conference at its headquarters in Nissan Technical Center North America in Michigan. The NV2500 Concept offers an innovative take on Commercial Vehicle design, as well as giving a foretaste of Nissan's entry into the North American CV market. New design and new thinking are offered in the Nissan NV2500 Concept, as well as a 3-Zone inside design and adaptable utility and storage solutions.

Included in its "wall-less" mobile office or workspace design are workstation for computers, a foldable conference table, lots of storage spaces, tie-down cargo or tool racks, almost six feet of inside height and an awning-style panel at the side that opens to provide a standing external workshop table. Everything in the inside is so designed so that they are multi-functional and tough enough to be able to cope with the demands of heavy-duty usage at a construction location or any other actual environments.

Furthermore, another illustration of the future potential Nissan commercial vehicle project is the Nissan NV200 which is making its North American debut. Initially displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show, the NV200 Concept stands for a fuel-efficient, delivery-type van and mobile office all combined into one. The Nissan NV200 Concept is a cab-forward design that comes with a special sliding cargo shell that goes from the rear to unveil a computer workstation and living spaces.

It is reported that Nissan will join the CV industry in the US beginning in 2010 with a product range that will include three of the latest products being developed by Nissan particularly for the market of North America. These products will be manufactured at the manufacturing facility of Nissan in Canton, Miss. Nissan is putting in $118 million to enlarge its production in Canton to include Commercial Vehicles. The fresh vehicles will be joined by CVs from Nissan's global CV range, making a multi-segment CV range reaching class 5 gross vehicle weight ratings.
