Highly anticipated to debut in Europe in mid-2010 is a new, family-sized version of the Ibiza but here's a look at the Seat Ibz Concept car, which serves as its preview. The Ibz Concept is actually very close to how the production Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer will look, although some of the more striking flourishes will be removed. Exterior features include the dramatic headlight shape, a new center grille with honeycomb slats, the Leon-style integrated rear door handles and LED lights. A panoramic roof is also believed to be offered as an option on the production car. Intended to be a practical vehicle, the production car will have a low load floor, a wide rear window, and boots space that is 410 liter seats up.
Seat says however that it will only say it is "significantly extended" when the rear seats are dropped into a completely flat position. Seat says the car will retain a sporty character; hence the cut-off steering wheel and rev counter. The feeling of spaciousness is highlighted in the concept's interior; hence the use of light strips to pick out the dash and doors, and light colors such as the magnolia trim, and soft-touch suede on the dash and seats. The Ibz's interior aspects -- the switchgear, use of storage hooks and underfloor storage in the boot, the electronic handbrake and numerous storage compartments -- are expected to be fitted in the production car's design. The Ibz concept is based on the hatch's chassis, and measures 4.22 meters in length and the same height and width as the hatch. Access to the rear seats will be improved further via broader rear doors.
