The Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup "Street" Edition will be arriving at US dealerships beginning January 2010. Pricing for the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup "Street" Edition begins at $25,000 but it qualifies for a federal tax credit of $1,300. The production version will be based on the concept displayed at SEMA 2008 and will have a similar body kit to the version shown off in previous TDI Cup races. Modifications were made to the "front bumper, side skirts and rear valance," and large, red, caliper brakes were added. The brakes are covered by 18-inch Charleston wheels while sport suspension and sway bars were taken from the GLI. Powering the car is a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that generates 140 horsepower and 236 ft-lb of torque. It will be paired with either a six-speed manual, or DSG paddle-shift transmission. In addition, the car will have Interlagos cloth-lined sport seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
