Ferrari North Europe said that over 1,000 vehicles have been registered to join a parade during Ferrari Racing Days at Silverstone Circuit on September 15, 2012, as part of its effort to break its own Guinness World Record for the Largest Parade of Ferrari Cars. Ferrari North Europe had set a record in 2007 on the Silverstone Circuit at the Ferrari Racing Days, with 385 cars joining the parade. The figure was later increased to 490 vehicles. More than 600 Ferrari cars responded to the registration call in the first month when the attempt was announced, but Ferrari North Europe has been unwavering on its plan to set a new Guinness World Record with 1000 cars. However, those interested could still make the list as registrations are still open.
The overwhelming show of interest for the record attempt is made possible by the support of the Ferrari Owners Club and Ferrari enthusiasts all over the United Kingdom and abroad. Ferrari will be donating £5 for every vehicle entered into the Guinness World Record attempt to BEN, the automotive industry’s own charity. It is expected that the recently extended Silverstone Grand Prix circuit could hold more than 1000 cars on track. Ferrari fans could also witness the record-breaking attempt by purchasing tickets for the Ferrari Racing Days event.
A fan could avail of advanced weekend tickets, which are available for only £15 per person, with children, aged 15 years and under, gaining entry for free. Tickets purchased on the day of the event would cost £15 per day and £20 for the weekend. The Ferrari Racing Days, slated on September 15-16, will feature the ultra-exclusive FXX and 599XX development cars on track and a wide range of historic Ferrari F1 cars from the F1 Clienti department. It will also feature a number of races like the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli and the Ferrari Club Challenge, the Pirelli Ferrari Open.
