2011 Chevrolet Captiva
Chevrolet unveiled today the 2011 Captiva SUV, a refreshed version of their popular vehicle set to make its debut by the end of the month, at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The new Captiva brings a new front end design as well as a new range of enhancements to the interior and new engines and transmissions. As you can see from the photos, the front end features a re-shaped and sharply sculptured hood, a larger front grille with dual openings, prism headlamps and LED turn signals on the outside rearview mirrors. Under the hood, the car comes with a choice of two gasoline engines (2.4L and 3.0L) and two turbo-diesel variants (2.2L), both mated to a manual or automatic six-speed transmission.
The 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine delivers 258 hp and uses direct injection and variable valve timing, while the 2.4-liter delivers 171 hp. The 2.2 liter common rail turbo-charged diesel units are available with either 163 or 184 hp outputs. The 2.2 liter turbo-diesels as well as the 2.4 liter gasoline engine can be ordered in front- or all-wheel-drive configurations. Furthermore, the chassis of the new car has been re-tuned to further enhance vehicle dynamics, improving cornering, roll characteristics and ride feel and comes as standard with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS) and Braking Assist System (BAS) as well as front-, side- and curtain airbags.
The interior of the car has also been redesigned and now features new finishes and textures including all-new seat fabrics and interior décor appointments to give the car a more up-market feel and look. The audio system includes Aux-in, USB-port and Bluetooth connectivity. As an option the manufacturer offers a touch-screen navigation system with rear view camera for parking assistance. The 2011 Captiva will make its debut on the market in spring 2011.
