Chevrolet Cruze started what would be a revolutionary design language for the brand with its unique and powerful body lines. It is no wonder that when it was first launched back in 2009, it won the hearts of drivers around the world.
Once the Cruze Hatchback is officially launched, the brand will have a stronger presence in the compact segment of Europe, considered a one of the most hard-fought. While the Cruze Hatchback will have the versatility and style of a standard five-door car, it will have the same qualities as that of the award-winning Cruze Saloon.
Chevrolet Europe President and Managing Director Wayne Brannon shares that the Cruze Hatchback will allow the company the chance to expand its presence in the compact segment. The Cruze Saloon was the brand’s best-seller in 2010 and on that basis, it is possible to say that the Hatchback will give the brand significant growth in the Europe market, he adds.
When the design and engineering team started working on a five-door hatchback that was centered on the Cruze Saloon, they knew that they had to consider the customer base for this market as it is considered to be heterogeneous. As such, the result is a vehicle that is not afraid to be compared its competitors in Europe.
With a bolder expression of the Chevrolet design, the Cruze Hatchback manages to bring together top-of-the-line interior space and modern styled passenger cabin with a line-up of diesel and petrol choices. Safety is topnotch as well with the inclusive safety equipment coming in as standard on all the models.
Chevrolet has always been in the pursuit of real cars for real people, Brannon continues. The goal of the brand is to offer products that appeal to all types of people, regardless of what their social status may be. The Cruze Hatchback is a good example of this principle and offers a lot of value for the money, he adds.
It sends out a strong statement when it comes to style and design but without compromising on economy, practicality, and more importantly, safety, Brannon further adds. All Cruze Hatchbacks will offer improvements to its interior with customers being allowed to choose between three trim levels: LS, LT, and LTZ.
