The new Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ Ghost and Phantom car collection take its inspiration from one of the 20th century’s major movements which celebrate the inspiring Art Deco era.
2012 Paris Motor Show featured the specially made Phantom Drophead Coupé, Phantom Saloon and Ghost models with respect to the Paris Exhibition or Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifset Industriels Modernes of 1925 which gave name to the movement.
Phantom Saloon features Art Deco-inspired interior details of arctic white and black which highlights the movement’s visual language and conveys creativity, attention to detail and exemplary skill employed by the Rolls-Royce craftspeople. It features as well hand-fashioned stainless steel pieces in its door cappings, telephone drawer and rear picnic table backs which highlight the period’ decorative style. This Art Deco-style geometric coach line pattern is a replica marquee’s rich heritage which is a design first produced by Rolls-Royce for its show stand at an early 20th century Olympia.
The Ghost also features a simple yet elegant look with its jubilee silver atop cobalt blue, dual tone and interior features of its front and rear inlays thoroughly designed and crafted. The Phantom Drophead Coupé on the other hand features well-furnished inlays of a stunning mother of pearl to gracefully complete the show line-up.
Rolls-Royce’s Chief Executive Torsten Müller-Ötvös proudly claim that they have captured the quintessence of one of the great periods of the 20th century design in Paris and that they take pride in being one of the world’s leading manufacturer of luxury goods which is justified by their new line of Art Deco-inspired motor cars. Moreover, an exclusive collection of these models is expected to soon be made available especially to Rolls-Royce clients.
The Phantom’s exterior color is available in Arabian blue, infinity black, Arctic White and powder blue in line with its Art Deco motif that will be complemented with an well illuminated Spirit of Ecstacy. The Art Deco motif also extends to the interior with features like Olympia-inspired headrest embroidery, handcrafted inlays of piano black veneer as well as treads plates.
