The Q80 Inspiration Concept became official today at the 2014 Paris Motor Show and according to the company it previews a new flagship model that will join the Infiniti lineup. The design is completely new and you’d better take a close look at it because the company will continue to use the same design philosophy on the upcoming vehicles.
The front end of the four-door fastback is dominated by the big front grille, stylish LED headlights and the impressive rear end featuring big LED taillights and chromed tailpipes. The exterior design is completed by the 22-inch multi-spoke chromed wheels.
Opening the portal-style doors we find four individual seats, as well as a simplified driver interface and the unique head-up display (HUD). A hybrid powertrain is found under the impressive design, consisting of a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine as well as electric motor.
Despite the total output of 550 hp, fuel consumption remains low as the Q80 Inspiration only needs 5.5 l/100 km (42.8 mpg), with CO2 emissions limited at 129 g/km. Infiniti said that the Q80 Inspiration also previews its philosophy on autonomous technology, as the concept uses cameras, lasers and sensors.
Via the clever HUD display projected on the windscreen, the system emits tones suggesting a course of action for the driver in heavy traffic or in highway mode.
