Lotus not coming to the 2012 Paris Motor Show

Article by Christian A., on July 18, 2012

Two years ago Lotus made quite a buzz with its stunning concepts unveiled at the Paris Motor Show (2015 Elise, 2013 Esprit, 2013 Elan, 2014 Elite, 2015 Eterne and City Car Concept), but this year it appears that things will change as the British manufacturer will not be present at the well-known French show.

According to Autocar, the new Lotus owner a.k.a. DRB-HICOM is making sure that it will use its money in most productive and cost-effective way. According to the Lotus spokesman, Lotus is currently working on new cars, which require funding and these are considered a priority (fair enough!).

We agree… we’d like to see some new cars from Lotus instead of same old @$%^. For those folks who don’t know, Lotus has also a new CEO as Dany Bahar was fired after using company’s money for its own purposes. Still, these are some bad news for the company as Bahar had big plans and under his arm the company created an interesting business plan and some jaw-braking concepts.

The most awaited Lotus makes its comeback. Undeniably, this is the vehicle that true Lotus fans have been dying to see: the ultimate Lotus.

The latest Lotus Esprit stands for the very definition of elite supercar riding. Look at it as a sign of dominance. Take it from Dany Bahar, Lotus CEO's personal word of perspective for the future status of the Lotus.

Chief Executive Officer of Group Lotus Dany Bahar said: The Lotus Esprit is the supercar that everyone has been waiting for. Previously when clients imagine the Esprit, they dream of movies like Pretty Woman, Bond, Basic Instinct, but now, the car is the main actor.

One has to be extremely careful when working on a task of reimagining a traditional car like the Lotus Esprit - because all fans will have something to say. There is a very fine line between knowing the awesomeness of the previous era and also moving fast towards a future that guarantees that this vehicle doesn't just carry the Esprit nametag with pride but also gives the Lotus brand justice. They have found the balance in creating a new classic with the technology clients are hungry for. It is definitely a vehicle that clients can’t ignore.
