Prior to the 2014 Paris Motor Show, Mitsubishi unveiled the Outlander PHEV Concept-S, its latest concept car that previews a special design package for the production version of the Outlander PHEV. The new design was created under “Sporty and Sophisticated” theme and features wraparound headlamps, a brand new front grille dominated by the Three-Diamond mark and chromed accent mouldings on either side.
At the rear, we find the same chrome accents complemented by elongated lamps. According to Mitsubishi, the colour chosen to highlight the design of the Outlander PHEV Concept-S is ‘Platinum White’ with glass flake finish.
Inside, we find a ‘Black & Burgundy’ colour scheme, black wood grain trim with silver accent and a centre console design inspired by the traditional Japanese black lacquered boxes.
Under the hood, we find a hybrid powertrain consisting of 2 permanent magnet synchronous motors, a 12kWh lithium-ion battery as well as a 2.0-liter four-cylinder DOHC MIVEC petrol engine. Power is delivered to the road via the Twin Motor AWD system.
