The Peugeot 5008 is the carmaker's new understanding of what it means to be a compact passenger vehicle. A combination of Peugeot's essential principles, while building on top of customer advantage without compromising performance, is what this new model is all about. The car comes with a skew of comfort, convenience and safety enhancements. Consequently, it brings the 5008 offers a whole new standard for compact passenger vehicles.
With the carmaker's intention of expanding its M1 segment, comes the 5008 which is its second new model offering in the large M1 segment, after the 3008 crossover. Featured in this compact 5 to 7-seater passenger car are enhancements that serve to improve and reinforce Peugeot's presence in the family car segment. With a measurement of 4.53 meters long and 1.64 meters high, after the 308 SW and 3008 crossover, the 5008 is a natural addition to the company's present offering in the M1 range.
The exterior design of the 5008 appears to be taken off of the 807 large MPV and 3008 crossover. It's engine range is a direct carry over from the 3008 which is basically untouched. Included in the initial gasoline line is a naturally ventilated 1.6-liter VTi powerplant producing 120hp and a 1.6-liter turbo that can give 156hp. The diesel powerplant line includes a 1.6-liter HDi producing 110hp and a 2.0-liter HDi generating 150hp when coupled with a 6-speed auto transmission and 163hp when you used a six-speed manual.
