Two new diesel engines have been added to Peugeot's 407 Coupe range. The most powerful engine ever in a production Peugeot is the new Euro V compliant 3.0-liter V6 HDi. This engine is also available in the brand new 2010 Jaguar XF and Citroen C6. Replacing the 2.7-liter HDi, the engine produces 241bhp, can reach 0-62mph in 7.7 seconds and is mated to a six-speed sequential auto box
CO2 emissions are down from 225g/km to 189g/km. Combined fuel economy is 39,2mpg, an improvement of 15% compared to the 2.7-liter HDi. The other new engine is the 163bhp 2.0-litre HDi, mated to a six speed manual box. Aside from being 20% more powerful than the 2.0-liter HDi it replaces, this engine's CO2 emissions are 140g/km while fuel economy is 52.3mpg. The 3.0-liter HDi in GT spec is priced from £27,000 while the 2.0-liter HDi is priced from £22,000. Both engines will be available in the autumn. The 407 Coupe will be available in the autumn in GT spec, complete with GT-only 19-inch alloy wheels, twin oval exhaust pipes and a rear diffuser.
