Having earned a victory at this year's Le Mans 24 Hours, Peugeot is hoping to replicate that success at the flagship race of the American Le Mans Series at the Road Atlanta circuit in Georgia. Peugeot entered two of its 908 Le Mans 24 Hours cars with its diesel-powered 808 closed-type prototype. Pedro Lamy, Nic Minassian, Franck Montagny and Stephane Sarrazin will be driving for Peugeot in the 1000-mile 10-hour race. ALMS series president and CEO Scott Atherton said, "It would be hard for us to imagine a stronger end to 2009 than with Peugeot sending not one but two clean diesel-powered prototypes for an event that truly has become a spectacle on the landscape of global motorsport."
