Peugeot has revealed the Urban Crossover Concept at the Beijing car show. The automaker's latest global crossover concept has been designed by its design studios in Paris, Sao Paulo and Shanghai. The vehicle is styled to cater to the future mobility needs of megacities. The Peugeot Urban Crossover Concept is 4140 mm in length and 1740 mm in width. The concept has design hints from the HR1 concept first viewed in 2010 at the Paris car show. The automaker maintains that it combines the "cheekiness and mischievousness" of an SUV and the "elegance and refinement" of a saloon. The styling features at the front end builds on the appearance of the new 208. A low roof and raked windscreen add to the sleek profile. Adding to the wide, low stance of the concept are the sculpted wings and flared arches. According to Peugeot, the spoiler and the double-bubble roof design take inspiration from the RCZ coupé. The lights at the back and front have Peugeot's 'claw' design. With regard to the positioning of the concept, Peugeot disclosed that it is the " synthesis" of its knowledge in developing a small automobile with compactness, agility, confident styling and multi-role ability for young city dwellers that "like the city, live the city, creating the city, while still loving to escape it."
