2011 Bmw 3-Series Coupe
The top-of-the-range 335i model of the 2011 BMW 3-Series Coupe got some minor cosmetic upgrades and an all-new 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine. The 3-Series Coupe and Convertible, which will be formally launched in March at the Geneva Motor Show, are set to go on sale in the spring. The 335i receives an all-new N55-series 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine, which was seen earlier in the 535i Grand Touring. Power output stays the same at 300 horsepower but BMW claims that the new engine weighs less, produces lower emissions and fuel consumption and features a broader torque curve than the outgoing 335i powertrain. BMW has yet to release fuel economy or emissions specifics. The 335i's new engine gets a flat torque curve from 1,200 rpm to 5,000 rpm. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 5.3 seconds with the standard six-speed manual transmission for a rear-wheel-drive model. You can opt for BMW's xDrive all wheel drive, which due to added traction enables the similarly equipped 335i Coupe to go to 60mph in 5.2 seconds. Meanwhile, the base 328i Coupe still offers 230 horsepower and is mostly unchanged.
