Pininfarina is the official designer of new Eurostar train

Pininfarina, the well-known Italian designer and coachbuilder, has struck a deal with the train company Eurostar to redesign and smarten up its lineup of cross-channel trains.
The deal comes as a breath of fresh air for Pininfarina since it has long been struggling with heavy losses, as well as the demise of its chairman and CEO last summer. Eurostar has been in the train business for 15 years and the deal will have Pininfarina begin making major overhauls of the company‚ rolling stock. The enhanced trains are expected to go into service by 2012 and no later, if all goes along as planned.
