Pontiac considering a new variant of the Trans Am Firebird

ember, when GM submitted its viability to the US Congress it said that it will reposition the Pontiac as a niche brand although it did not provide any details or time frame. GM has said that dealers of Pontiac have to wait for GM‚ strategy for the brand until next year since it is down below the priority list at the moment. GM is not looking to Pontiac for its salvation and its decision for the brand has been so. A likely car of the future will consist of a rear-wheel-drive sports car that is reminiscent of the performance heritage of Pontiac, or a new variant of the Trans Am Firebird. Included also in the possibility is a sporty vehicle that attracts Generation Y buyers. The small vehicle may be offered in two or three versions consisting of a coupe, sedan and wagon. The classification of the Pontiac as a niche brand has caused more controversies than it could handle at this time.
