The whale penis is apparently not that easy to give up. After facing intense scrutiny for using the whale penis leather upholstery in the $1.5 million Prombron Monaco Red Diamond Edition SUV, the tuning specialists at Dartz have decided to instead use whale skin vinyl. This is an artificial material that is intended to replicate the feel of whale skin.
It can be recalled that Dartz's use of the whale penis skin has received much flack from Greenpeace, the World Wildlife Fund, and celebrities like Pamela Anderson. Dartz refuses to give up the idea but is willing to compromise with the use of the synthetic material.
At the 2010 Top Marques Monaco event, which will be held in mid-April, Dartz will display the revised (whale skin-free) luxury SUV and it will also launch a Porsche 911 fitted with whale skin vinyl. Dartz‚ statement emphasized that this is a copy and that no whale lost their penis.
