Porsche displays Panamera Turbo S at 2011 New York International Auto Show

Porsche revealed the new four-door Panamera Turbo S at the 2011 New York International Auto Show that opened its doors today. What makes this report sensational is that this is the most powerful Panamera ever. The new Porsche Panamera Turbo S, which will start selling in the U.S. in the spring, will have a base MSRP of $173,200, excluding $975 for delivery and destination charge. The 4.8 liter, V8 unit that powers the Turbo S results to a maximum output of 550hp (up 10% from the 500hp delivered by the Panamera Turbo).
The torque has also been raised with the Turbo going from 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) to 553 lb-ft. (750 Nm). There is the overboost function in the "Sport" and "Sport Plus" mode of the standard Sport Chrono Package Turbo that could temporarily develop additional torque with a peak rating of 590 lb.-ft. (800 Nm).
The latest Panamera can accelerate to 60 mph (97 km/h) in only 3.6 seconds. The top track has a speed of 190 mph (306 km/h). Porsche said that the official EPA fuel economy estimates for the Panamera Turbo S will continue to be posted when the car starts selling in North America.
