If you own a Porsche 991 and you are looking for ways to improve it, today is your lucky day as the German car is offering a new power enhancement kit developed for the 911 (991) Carrera S. According to the official press release, Porsche Exclusive will offer a power boost for the 3.8-litre boxer engine engine from 400 hp (294 kW) to 430 hp (316 kW). With some help from the PDK in Sport Plus mode, the 991 Carrera S will be able to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.0 seconds and will have a top speed of 306 km/h (190 mph) with PDK and to 308 km/h (191 hp) with a seven-speed manual gearbox. Despite the power increase, fuel consumption remains unchanged thanks to modifications and adaptations to the electronic engine management.
The Powerkit used on the 991 Carrera S consists of special cylinder heads with different camshafts and an entirely new variable resonance intake system design with six air flaps and a resonance flap. Furthermore, we find an additional centre radiator, which keeps the higher specific power from overloading the thermal management system of the six-cylinder engine. A new sport exhaust system with two sets of twin tailpipes with independent styling was used to achieve a low exhaust back pressure. Using just a button, the exhaust system is dethrottled and the two exhaust lines are merged and they generate a powerful engine sound.
As expected, the Powerkit also features the Sport Chrono package with dynamic engine mounts for even sportier driving properties. In terms of design, the Powerkit features an engine compartment styling with titanium coloured engine cover and carbon inlays. Moreover, Porsche Exclusive offers exterior components in order to improve the looks of the car such as a new front apron with powerful air intakes from the Sport Design package and a new fixed rear spoiler in legendary “ducktail” form. Still, we find a top upgrade: the Aerokit Cup. This offers an additional fixed rear wing over the rear spoiler and a special front spoiler lip with additional air intakes. Other improvements are the tinted privacy glass for the side and rear windows and the Exterior package with various components in body colour. The interior continues the sporty theme and we find plenty of upgrades, such as interior packages with decorative trim ranging from brushed aluminium to carbon.
