Porsche AG has appointed Oliver Blume to its executive board as the successor to Wolfgang Leimgruber. Mr. Blume will also take over as head of the carmaker’s production and logistics division effective January 1, 2013. Blume’s outstanding career in Volkswagen will be valuable to his new post, since VW and Porsche have several joint production projects, according to Porsche spokesman Hans-Gerd Bode. Blume first joined Audi, where he was promoted to assume a high-level production position before he was transferred to VW Group's Spanish unit Seat. He was then appointed as global production planning at VW in 2009. As for Leimgruber, he is leaving Porsche after 35 years to go into retirement. Leimgruber, however, will continue to draw from his experience to advise Volkswagen Group.
