Yesterday we found out that a budget Boxster is a priority for Porsche and it seems these are not the only plans of the German manufacturer. According to the latest reports, Porsche will launch a convertible version of the Panamera sedan. The new car will have four seats but only two doors in order to increase the rigidity of its body and limit the weight increase from the folding roof mechanism, says Autonews.

The Porsche Panamera two-door convertible will cost about 11,000 euros ($16,000) more than the Panamera four-door model which comes with a price tag of 94,575 euros in Germany.

For those who don't know, the German manufacturer has a range of 14 derivatives of the 911 that are very successful, said Wolfgang Duerheimer for Automobilwoche and it appears that the same recipe will be applied for the Panamera, in order to diversify the lineup. Volkswagen a.k.a. Porsche's new owner will also use the Panamera platform for its brands, including Bentley and Audi.
