Porsche pulls out from American Le Mans Series

Another bad new hit the American Le Mans Series last weekend with pronouncement that Porsche is getting out of the P2 segment, even though it will go on to support the 911 GT3 RSR in GT2. This came after Audi's declaration that they will not join in the series after March's 12 Hours of Sebring. The likelihood of personal entries for both Audi and Porsche is still a possibility, while it presently appears that Acura will be the favorite in the prototype segments with both P1 and P2 entries. Mazda has also increased its efforts for next year, combining forces with Dyson Racing for a program of two-car P2.
