There have been many reports about Aston Martin’s V12 Zagato but it will actually only make its first major show appearance this September at the 64th IAA International Show at Frankfurt. The V12 limited production car is expected to stand out among the biggest lineup of contemporary Aston Martins ever put on a Motor Show. Next month, two hand-crafted vehicles that made the rounds at the Nurburgring 24 hour race will be showcased. The two V12 Zagatos are named ‘Zig’ and ‘Zag’.
The car that’s referred to as ‘Zig’ has a unique green livery and has full endurance race car specs as featured at the Nurburgring. It comes with a full aerodynamic package that consists of a front splitter, dive planes, large rear diffuser and spoiler. Meanwhile, ‘Zag’ was first seen at the Villa D’Este before it was converted into the same full racing specification as the sister car. After the 24 hour race, the ‘Zag’ was shifted back to its original show car state.
The car shows a racing car interior but it is actually intended to be a close approximation of what customers will get when they purchase a V12 Zagato. Furthermore, Aston Martin has released the first conceptual illustrations of the road car version that will enter production starting in the middle of next year. There are few changes but the color is unique. These two V12 Zagatos will be seen at the Aston Martin stand at Frankfurt in September beside the One-77 supercar and the Virage and Vantage S, which were recently launched.
