PSA to offer its Citroen C-Zero to business customers through a car-sharing service

2011 Citroen C-Zero

Starting in January 2011, PSA/Peugeot-Citroen’s business customers in France can get a hold of the Citroen C-Zero EV through a service called Citroen Business Connected. The service is based on an alliance between PSA's Citroen Business France division and the French car-sharing operator Carbox. PSA said it expects fleet customers that need cars for short-distances will represent a large part of its EV business in France and in the rest of Europe.

A PSA spokeswoman says business customers can reserve and pick up the C-Zero models at sites around France beginning in January 2011. The Citroen C-Zero and its sister model, the Peugeot iOn, are based on the Mitsubishi i-MiEV.

Citroen Business Connected will ensure that the EVs will remain charged and the service will also offer car maintenance services. Citroen Business Connected will likely be available outside of France eventually; however, a date has not yet been determined, the spokeswoman added. [via autonews - sub. required]
