What would you say if we told you that, starting with this year, China will somehow get an European look alike? Or better said, Europe embraces China…for the Race of Champions, of course.
The reputed elitist European event is now becoming a multi continent show as this year‚ edition will be hosted in Beijing at the Bird‚ Nest stadium, built last year especially for the 2008 Olympic Games. The Race of Champions has always been famous for its cross of different motorsport disciplines with top drivers from F1, rally, touring cars or Le Mans competing with each other in a series of heats on varied machinery on a special road built inside a big sports arena. Since its first edition, 15 years ago, the elitist show crossed territories like Canary Islands, for 10 years, France for 3 years and UK during the last two seasons. Among the champions of the Race of Champions we recall names like Sebastien Loeb, Mattias Ekstrom, Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel. We are curious who shall win the champion this year, considering the change of the European roots in Asian roots.
