Wait, what? It appears that diesel engines are becoming more and more popular and the brand new SRT brand wants to offer what the world wants. After Mercedes-Benz’ AMG brand announced that it will offer high performance vehicles powered by diesel engines and after Bmw introduced the tri-turbocharged diesel powerplant, it’s time to see an American answer. CEO, Ralph Gilles, pays attention to its fans on twitter and when asked about a possible SRT vehicle capable to take on the performance oriented diesels offered in Europe he said that: “I am a fan, We would cut our teeth in Europe first”. This means that Europe will be the first to see a SRT diesel, but the model remains a mystery. Currently, the only possibility is the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is available in International markets. A diesel-version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee might also be a solution as the SUV looks real hot. Still, this is only a possibility! [source: AutoGuide]
