New details have been released about the sportier Range Rover Evoque model that Land Rover is developing. The Evoque R will be powered by the supercharged V6 that’s also used in the upcoming Jaguar F-Type. The standard Range Rover Evoque model can produce 240-hp, making it comparable to its rivals. But to improve the model’s image, it would have to boost its performance. It was reported that the Evoque R model will feature a detuned version of the Jaguar 3.0-liter V6 supercharged with 340 hp compared with 360 hp. This is the right move for the Evoque, especially since the 2013 BMW X1 is available with a 3.0-liter inline-six with 300hp. It would also have to contend with the upcoming Porsche Macan that could be equipped with a 370-hp V6 powerplant. [source: Autoblog.nl]
